How do I know if my osteopath is a member of the College of Osteopaths of New Brunswick and holds a valid licence?

How long does a session last?
The length of a session can vary, but is usually between 30 and 60 minutes. Your therapist might take more time for initial visits and less time for follow up appointments.
Who is osteopathy suited for?
Osteopathy is suited for all age groups including infants, children, teenagers, adults and the elderly.
Does it hurt?
Osteopathic treatment is a manual based therapy which requires physical contact. Techniques should feel purposeful and comfortable, but the patient may experience soreness on the day following a treatment. If more serious side effects occur, communicate with you osteopath and he will adjust his treatment accordingly.
Does medicare cover osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a private health care service. As such, it is not reimbursed by medicare.
Does my insurance cover osteopathy?
Most insurance companies recognize receipts issued by members of the CONB. If in doubt about the extent of your coverage, we recommend you contact your insurance provider prior to your appointment.
Why register with CONB?
The only way to practice osteopathic services in the province of New Brunswick is to be part of the College of Osteopaths of New Brunswick. It is also the only way to use the Osteopath Title protected by law in the province and bill insurance companies.
